A Clinical Metabolomics Strategy to Discover New Biomarkers in Complex Disease: An Overview.

In clinical metabolomics biomarker discovery is conducted by the complementary power of clinical study design and execution, molecular profiling technologies and an efficient bioinformatics strategy for biomarker search, verification and interpretation. This survey article gives a review of useful bioinformatics methods for biomarker discovery, addressing the problem of data preprocessing, the data-driven search, prioritization and biological interpretation of metabolic biomarkers candidates in disase.
